Editorial

Dear readers,
We are glad to present the second issue of our newsletter, in which we are again touching various subjects regarding bottle closures.
In particular, we are proud to report the opening of our new factory in Cairo - one step forward in another continent, on which in the last few years we have noticed a considerable increase of our market share.
This is another mark of our expansion at a time when we can only win the preference of our common customers if we are able to work as partners, with a clear vision of the global picture, and the full mastery of our resources and energies.
Wishing you a successful summer.

Best regards,

Pascal Piroué

Commercial Director

Our first production plant in Africa

We are happy to announce the opening of our first production unit outside Europe, Pelliconi Egypt S.A.E., a joint venture between Pelliconi and Dr. Tarek Massoud, a well known local entrepreneur.
The aim of our manufacturing presence in Egypt is to become an active player in the growth of the African economy, establishing our local production on the African Continent.
In the new plant – located in the El Obour Industrial area in Cairo – we will manufacture 26 mm crowns according to our well established quality standards; production lines will be the state of the art in the crown manufacturing industry and we will also provide full technical and commercial support from the Italian headquarters in order to guarantee consistency with production coming from the existing Pelliconi plants.

Our technicians – at your service

Over the years we have seen our closures used in the widest range of possible conditions, all over the world and on machines of every type. We learned to evaluate and measure all parameters that would affect the performance of all closures, and to fine-tune the capping equipment to reach the highest efficiency and avoid many common problems during and after bottling.
The vast knowledge base and the expertise acquired by our technicians has always been used to improve the quality of our products and services; now we have decided to offer our experience not just as a supplier, but also as a consultant to any bottler that wishes to take advantage of it. Two different audit packages are available for each line of products, at very competitive conditions – your Pelliconi representative will be glad to give you details.

Let’s start thinking about the environment
It’s a small planet, and the only one we’ve got – so we all need to have a proactive approach towards the environment. It not only our duty, but it also makes good business sense, as waste equals inefficiency and therefore additional costs; and we can expect legislators to increase taxes on all one-way packaging.
We can begin with one small, very easy suggestion: if you are still receiving our closures on one-way pallets, why not move to CHEP pallets? After you have used our products, the pallets will continue their journey in the CHEP system, and you will have less waste to be eliminated. And they are also sturdier, at no extra cost.
We are also at work on reducing the environmental footprint of the closures themselves, and you can expect to see innovative proposals from us in the coming months. Watch this space!

Our sales team grows

We welcome three new arrivals in our sales team. Igor Staniskov, after a long experience in sales and working for the EU in Macedonia, is based in Skopje and is responsible for sales in the Balkan countries. Bernd Hartmann, graduated brewer comes from a manufacturer of machines for the brewing & beverage industry to share the responsibility of the German and East European markets. Last but by no means least a lady, Anna Sergeenko, with a solid experience in servicing the beverage industry, is based in St. Petersburg to be closer to our customers in the Russian Federation, Belarus and Kazakhstan.
They complete a young and motivated team, strategically distributed throughout Europe, that is now at your disposal and waiting for the possibility to show you what we can do for your business.

More closures with PVC-free liners

Our customers asked for them, and we listened. We are happy to announce that we are now extended our range of PVC-free version, which – although not yet a legal requirement – is the preferred choice of many of your customers, and a prerequisite to supply major brands and store chains.
Not only our well-known aluminium closures ROPP 28x15 are now available with PVC-free liners, suitable for use on the same equipment that you already have; Pelliconi is now the first manufacturer to offer “twist” crown corks with PVC-free liners. After a long work. the first generation of such crowns is now available for industrial testing; if you want to be in the forefront of the market, act now: please contact us and we will be glad to illustrate to you the possibilities and organize a test on your products.
